Oscars: Best fashion from the after-parties

Published

on

While the Oscars red carpet is glamorous, the after-parties allow stars to let their hair down and enjoy the celebrations – often in a more relaxed outfit. Even if you’re not invited to the ceremony, these are your chance to get your fashion moment.

Tonight, celebrities will be moving from one event to the next. Presenters, winners, and other celebs will be doing the same. The most well-known events are the Governors Ball, the Governors Ball, and the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party. Jay-Z and Beyonce’s Gold Party in Chateau Marmont (a controversial location, with a worker boycott and protests outside tonight) and a private party hosted and hosted by Gucci.

These are our top picks for after-party outfits…

Kim Kardashian arrives at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Kim Kardashian in Balenciaga

Kim K is an excellent example of what we can expect. The dress is figure-hugging, but in neon blue instead of her preferred black or pink. The Dirty Dog-esque frames I want to discuss are what I believe will appeal to a whole new generation of Kiwis.

Hunter Schafer

Hunter Schafer in Rick Owens

Rick Owens is rarely listed as a red-carpet designer. This Euphoria star’s appearance has me obsessed. As Prada’s ‘face,’ I am surprised and pleased that she isn’t wearing it. The denim dress is in line with the current ‘Avant-apocalypse trend – it’s deconstructed, dystopian, slightly punk, has lots of neutrals, and is intimidatingly cool. Hunter’s stylist Law Roach deserves applause because Hunter did the hair and makeup.

Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner wearing Louis Vuitton

This is fun: practical maternity wears with a fashion twist. Although I don’t usually like Louis Vuitton’s red carpet style, Nicholas Ghesquiere, the designer, is a great choice. With its high neck, bold red color, and large zip detail, this maternity wear looks striking and comfortable.

Troye Sivan at Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 30th Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party

Troye Sivan in Valentino

Valentino dresses the most extraordinary people. From Maya Rudolph’s orange feathery captain at the main ceremonies to this beaded delight by Elton John at Elton John’s viewing party, Valentino never fails to dress the coolest.

Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor

Sarah Paulson, Bottega Veneta with Holland Taylor

This leather fringed skirt is the hottest item of the season. Jaws was a hit when it debuted on the runway last month. It was presented by Matthieu Blazy, the new Bottega Veneta creative director. It is also worth $29k. It was a celebrity stylist’s job to ensure that their client was the first to wear it. Karla Welch was the stylist who paired it with a white T-shirt and gloves. Everything about each element is what I love. But, wearing a white T-shirt to a red carpet event is cool.

Hailey Bieber

Hailey Bieber wearing Saint Laurent

Karla Welch’s second client and someone who desperately needs her fashion guidance. Welch worked for Hailey’s husband, Justin, for many years. She looks amazing! It’s LA now – cutouts, Yeezy neutrals, and wavy hair. While the neutral flower corsage may seem odd, paying attention to the fantastic gold bangles is essential.

Donald Glover

Donald Glover

Because he’s naturally cool, he can pull off any suit, even this new take on suiting: pale yellow, loose-shape, and oversized. I love the little touches of gold chains. It’s lovely to see Hollywood men embrace and experiment with fashion like this.

Kathy Hilton and Joan Collins

Joan Collins and Kathy Hilton

Only icons! This photo radiates so much beauty. It doesn’t matter what clothes they are wearing. They seem to be having a good old-fashioned chat, precisely how I would do at an Oscar after-party.
